During these uncertain times a lot of people are looking for ways to not only save but also make a little extra money. One way to do this is by blogging. That’s right set up your blog and start blogging to your heart’s content. Just a word of caution this is not the easiest way to make money and it does take quite some time before you see money trickle in on a regular basis. A rough estimate is 6 to 18 months before you see a consistent income.

Of course you want to find a place to host your blog such as www.blogger.com, www.typepad.com or wordpress.com. Some places allow you to host your blog for free and others charge a small fee. It will only take you about 5 minutes to set your blog up.

The first thing you want to do is blog about something you are passionate about and those things that you can have a lot of fun with. Make sure you are blogging about original content or at the very least put an original spin to old material.

You can add banners and google adsense to your blog which will enable you to make money every time someone clicks on one of your advertisements.

Everyone is not going to make money with their blog and just as fast as someone starts a blog another blog is shut down for a variety of reasons. Some people shut their blog down because of lack of interest. Those are the people that started blogging just to make money. A lot of people blog for the joy of blogging and it turns out that they are the ones that make the most money. Blogging can be done as a way to record your daily random thoughts and still others use blogging to promote a business or a product or service.

Some of the resources you can use to generate revenue include TTZ Media, Kontera.com, Contentlink, Pepperjam Network, Text link Ads, Bidvertiser, ReviewMe.com, Dealdotcom, AzoogleAds, and Market Leverage. You have to apply with each of these resources. If you are approved you will be able to add the html code to your website and wait for the income to come in.

The state of the economy has just about everyone scrambling to find different ways to make money. Therefore I am going to find some of the best ways to make money online and provide them for my readers.

One way you make money is by going to the website www.pickydomains.com and register by providing a few pieces of personal information. When your registration is complete you can begin providing names for various new businesses. For example there could be an owner of an auto repair shop looking for a new domain name to get his business started.

You can suggest domain names based on the new owners specifications. They may want a short domain name with no more than 9 or 10 letters and possibly two or three words.

You key in domain names that you think might fit the bill such as www.carshop.com or www.theautopit.com. When you have provided the domain names in the designated space you hit the submit button and the system will automatically do a search to see if those domain names are available. If they are available those domain names will go into a data base to be reviewed by the new business owner and he or she will let you know if they like the domain names you have submitted.

If any domain names are chosen by the business owners you receive $25. There are people looking for domain names for airline reservations, job search websites, new search engine websites, and many more. It's just a matter of submitting the names and wait to get paid.

How to use network marketing as a wealth building strategy is easy when you apply these 4 Principles of Selection

Coming from an internet marketing background, I stumbled into network marketing before the popularity of membership sites when I was in search of a recurring revenue model. There were massive similarities in the way an network marketing opportunity should be marketed, and I noticed very quickly that wasn’t happening. Here is where I saw a great way to leap into the market, dominate using internet marketing techniques and create another stable income stream for myself, once again – on autopilot.

First, let me tell you why initially I didn’t consider network marketing in my model, and what changed all of that. It was the fact it seemed to take a lot of effort, tons of phone calls (which I don’t do), and involved stocking, or some physical element. My world was digital, and if I couldn’t automate it, it didn’t fit in my operating basis. The other reason, I didn’t see the fun in it.

Then along came a new world of digitally offered network marketing adventures, such as travel bookings, and I was in. Not only was this great because I never had to touch product, or order a personal quantity, but my internet marketing skills fit perfectly, and I love to travel. So tip #1 – pick something that fits in your ideal lifestyle.

What I do is create a landing page (which I recommend) to go in front of your NM offer, and list build. That way you have an instant audience that are interested in your offer (or they wouldn’t have opted-in), and all you have to do is close them – which I did with a series of automated autoresponder messages, and a monthly teleseminar. It was a match made in heaven.

So when you are considering getting into a network marketing endeavor, what I recommend is you follow the four P’s:

1. Price – how much is it to get in, and what is the monthly fee if any

2. Plan – does it pay on a recurring basis, and if there was a recurring fee, can you earn your way out of it – ie. Sell 4 members, no more monthly fee out of your pocket

3. Performance – what is the payout plan and is it front end heavy, or distributed over time – (I prefer a heavy front end payout, with small recurring increments)

4. People – is there a team above you willing to keep you trained, motivated, on target, and informed – even better, are they fun to be around.

Then compare all of these against your ideal lifestyle, and your passion, and you’re on your way to a great network marketing income stream.

How to Build Wealth and Gain Balance

If you have chosen Internet marketing as the field you wish to build your wealth in you will quickly discover it is one of the most overwhelming fields anyone could choose. It is so vast and it's like getting a Harvard Education every week with the content and value of information we receive every day, especially if you are a newbie.

I have found a lot of Internet Marketing newbies buy programs, buy products, gather information like squirrels, but forget to lay the plan in place to actually do them.

Or they lay the plan in place, but get stuck at something they can’t do, or don’t understand, put it back on the shelf for another day, jump on the next exciting tidbit of technology, and continue the cycle.

From this moment forward I want you to start with an organized slate, because wealth building requires a keen sense of organization so that you can balance the different elements in your life.

This means getting some strategies in place to help you stay on top, and not under your goals.

Top 2 strategies I use:

(1) For each internet marketer you are following, open up an email folder for them and start to put each of their emails in there. This is for 2 reasons, one it is easier to follow what they are talking about and do any lessons you have missed, and two, it can serve as a swipe file to get good ideas from in the future.

(2) Organize what you already have so that when new stuff comes in the door you will know what to do with it. You can do this in a few ways. You can have files on harddrive for: PDF files, audios, videos, ebooks, stuff I have resell rights to, and stuff I have private label rights to. This is how I have it, and in addition, I add a folder for each mentor program I am involved with, and everything from that program goes in there. So spend some time cleaning up and organizing what you have (you may be amazed what you can put a blog post together on tonight and start selling), and then when the new information comes in, stay on top of it.

Then approach each project in an organized fashion:

For example if you bought an e-book with master rights, and didn’t ever sell any, write down the pieces you needed to be able to sell it.

Break it down into steps you can do to sell it by the end of the day.

For example:
- Read the e-Book if you haven’t

- Put together a website (if it came with one, this part is done). If it didn’t, and you don’t know how to put together a website, then go to elance.com or guru.com and post a quote request, and in a matter of hours, you will have what you need to complete this step

- Put together a list, get a list, find people with lists. This of course is a very big key to being able to sell an e-book, and that is having the right target audience to sell to. Your website is great, but you need the oxygen – people. Search for people who have products like yours, and offer to joint venture with them. And if you don’t know what a joint venture is – find out. This is the key to understanding, and that is if you discover that you have hit a word, acronym, or concept you don’t understand that is critical to the success of your venture, sidetrack and get what you need to know.

- For the ‘put together a list’, this step takes more steps. My first suggestion for this is to make sure you have the correct autoresponder software to drive a campaign like this. And there is one I use, and recommend, and that is:

Autoresponse Plus – It is a bargain, and they install it for you, and it is yours to keep! No monthly fees and it can be moved to any ISP.

Select one of your products, and with your recipe, start to put the specifics in place for just that item.

Then start with the first step, and do it.

If you can repeat for each item that is still in a backlog, or half-done, then put the steps in place for those as well.

Take at least one hour of your day, and devote it to getting organized, or you will have yet another year of running and surviving, without some real wealth building.

2+2 = 5, this equation only takes place when there is synergy. Let me give you the definition of synergy. "The whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts. Here is an example of synergy. If you have Jane making widgets and alone she is able to make 25 widgets and you also have Bill. Bill is also able to make 25 widgets. Jane's production plus Bill's equals 50 widgets.

Now Let's say Jane and Bill decide to work together to produce their widgets. Now you have two people working together towards a common goal. What happens now is an exchange takes place. An exchange of ideas, ability, creativeness, brainstorming, communication, time, energy, excitement, passion, knowledge base.

Each individual brings a different set of variables to the table and they exchange all of the talent and ability the each possess and you know have synergy. Since they have decided to produce their widgets together the final output could be
70 widgets or 80 widgets or even 100 widgets.

Now you need to have your web designer set up a mini website called a squeeze page. This squeeze page should have some compelling information on it, enticing enough to make customers input their name and email address. To do this you use words that capture attention such as amazing, incredible, awesome techniques to help you make money online”. Along with this you may want to offer a free product such as a CD, or a newsletter. People always want something for free and this will make them more likely to key in their name and email address.

As soon as they opt in with their name and email address they will receive an email thanking them for opting in. Afterwards your prospective customer will start to receive a series of emails from your auto responder. The next email will go out one hour later, the next 2 days later, the next 2 days later, the next 7 days later, and the next 14 days later. The email addresses that you are capturing when they opt in are the starting point for building your list of prospective customers. The reason for building this list is because you eventually want to sell them a product and at some point in time maybe about your 8th or 9th email you will need a hyperlink that directs your clients to a sales page to sell them a product.

Now the question is how do you get prospective customers to go to your url which directs them to your squeeze page. First of all your url should have some keywords which are picked up by the search engines such as Google, Msn, and Yahoo. These keywords will ensure that your information can be found by those searching the internet for whatever it is you are selling.

Next you should write articles and submit them to some of the free ezines. Your articles should also have keywords in them. Here is how you articles should be formatted, first of all you will have a title which as you probably guessed should have one or two keywords included and then there is a summary of your article. The summary is three or four lines that summarizes what the article is about. It should be compelling as should the title which will ensure others will want to read the entire article.

The very next portion of the letter is the body and it too should have keywords. The last part is a place for your bio. In the bio you want to include your name and company name and what you do along with your credentials. Also include your URL and this is very key because when someone clicks on your URL it will direct them to your website or your squeeze page giving them the option to opt in with their name and email and thus being added to your list.

Here is another good benefit of writing articles if someone likes your articles they can download them, of course they should leave all of your contact information intact, (bio), unto their own website and when someone comes to their website they can download them unto their website if they chose to do so. It has a domino effect. Your one article could get circulated around and eventually become 10 or 15 or even 100 articles and all with your URL attached in the bio allowing prospective clients the opportunity to be opt in on your squeeze page.

For those of you that don’t know what page rank is, it’s a tool put together by Google which determines the effectiveness or efficiency of your website. The higher your page rank the higher your website is listed in the various search engines and that means more traffic to you site, which in essence means more people are looking at your site, your products, your services, thus putting more money in your pocket in the form of paying customers.

If more people are going to your website then less traffic is going to your competitors website. Unfortunately most people don’t even know what page rank is but those visitors that do will place your website in a higher esteem than your competitors and feel that your content is much more valuable and insightful.

Now you are probably wondering how is page rank determined and more importantly how do you increase your page rank. Well, let’s look at the first part of that question. Your page rank is determined when another page links to your page with a back link. The more back links you receive from other pages the higher your page rank. This process can get quite involved and a little messy because all back links don’t carry the same weight or force. The higher the page rank that a link is coming from the more beneficial it is in terms of boosting your page rank. So if you get links from a lot of pages with low page ranks it will not have as strong an impact as a few pages with higher page ranks.

Now this is the complicated part if you have a page that has a page rank of 7 and it is already linked to 10 or 15 other pages then it will not be any more beneficial to you than a page that has a page rank of 3. There is only so much linking that a page can do. It’s almost like the law of diminishing returns.

Another factor to determine page rank is the longevity of your site. Just how long has your site been around or your blog and have long have you been posting content? Obviously the longer the better. So now how do you improve your page rank? Well you do so by submitting your website to web directories which helps to increase your page rank and increases the flow of traffic to your site. You can set up your own blog and start making money. You can get the whole thing set up in about 3 to 5 minutes, no joke. Just do the following and you are on your way: a. Go to http://www.blogger.com/ and then the system will ask you for a blog title and then a blog address or URL. Searching for a URL that is not taken is probably the only delay you will run into.
b. When you enter the URL you would like you then click on the availability hyperlink and the system will either say that URL is available or it's taken in which case you have to try to find another one which has not been selected yet. There will be a little security coded lettering you have to enter and then click on the continue key.

c. Now it's time to chose the template you desire for your blog. It gives you several designs to select from. Don't worry if you change your mind about a particular template because you can always go back and change it later even after you have posted some content. You can even change it right then if you like.

d. After you select your template you are up and running and ready to go with your first post. There are a lot of features and extras that can be added to your blog. For example Google adsense. These are ads place on your blog by Google which are consistent with the material you have written in your blog.

If you write about setting and achieving goals your ads from Google will be about goals and so on and so forth. Also do not click on your own ads or Google will kick you out of the program. That’s the life of the risk takers, those that aspire to live the life of success. They are the entrepreneurs of this world that dream of something better.

In our world resides those individuals that won’t settle for the status quo. They will do whatever it takes to live life on their terms, and have the freedom to travel and set their own schedules. To make a decision means to cut off any other possibility.

Legend has it that when the great warrior cortez set foot upon a foreign land to conquer, he and his army were met with an enemy that had an army that was double the size of Cortez. Not only were they out numbered but the enemy was bigger, faster and stronger. Cortez knew he needed a way to motivate his men before the battle otherwise they would be slaughtered. He summoned his two right hand men and ordered them to burn the boats upon which they sailed over on.

When the boats were nothing but ashes Cortez addressed his army. “As you can see the boats upon which we sailed over on are nothing but ashes.” Our choices are simple we go into battle and we can either win or lose. If we win we conquer this land, if we lose we die. They went into battle and they won. They left themselves no escape route. There was literally no other alternative.

Use Compound Interest To Help Your Money Grow

Are you looking to become financially independent? Then it’s a good idea to start saving money at an early age. The earlier the better. Once you start saving your money a magnificent concept called compound interest comes into play and begins to do great things for your money. Your money begins to grow at an astounding rate.

So amazing is this concept that Albert Einstein called it the one of the greatest inventions of mankind. So let’s take a look at this amazing concept at work and how it allows your money to grow and expand. In this first example let’s say you are 25 years of age and you invest $50 per month until you are 65 years old. Upon reaching that age you will have accumulated $24,000 and this is assuming you have earned no interest.

Now we can change the details and assume the $50 you were investing was earning interest at a rate of 4%. Instead of $24,000 you will instead have earned $59,295 because of the compounding effect of interest. The same $50 invested for the same period of time but at a rate of 7% will now accumulate to $132,006. Taking the same $50 and now using a rate of 9% it accrues to $235,822. The final example yields $594,121 using an interest rate of 12%.

Summary:

25 year old person invests $50 until they turn 65 years old.

$50 =================> $24,000
$50 (4%) ===========è $$59,295
$50 (7%) ==========è $132,006
$50 (9%)=============> $235,822
$50 ( 12%) ==========è $594,121

To examine this concept more lets take a look at another example. What happens when you wait five years later to start saving the same amount of money at the same rates of interest. If a person is 30 years old and they save $50 per month until they reach the age of 65 they will have accumulated $21,000. Right up front we notice that this person ends up saving $3,000 less than the person who started at the age of 25. Following the example further using the same rates of interest we are faced with some amazing outcomes.

A 30 year old person investing $50 per month at a rate of 4% until the age of 65 will have accumulated $45,839. This is approximately $15,000 less than the 25 year old. It gets worse as we go. Look at what happens with the interest rate of 7%. The 30 year old will only have accumulated $90,578 at the age of 65.
At 9% they will have only accumulated $148,192 by the age of 65 and using a rate of return of 12% the earnings are only $324,763. This is roughly $270,000 less than they 25 year old person would have accumulated, and it’s all because they waited 5 years later to start saving. This is due to the amazing effect of compound interest, which is interest being paid on top of interest.

Compound interest is simply adding any accumulated interest earned back to the principal and the interest now becomes principal. Interest can be compounded for different periods of time including yearly, semi-annually, monthly, weekly or daily.

Now of course you have to understand that the aforementioned examples are just that theoretical in nature and they are not written in stone. What’s not taken into effect is the effect that taxes will have on your money. Even if you continuously invest without fail every single month there is no guarantee you will yield a profit, in fact you could end up losing your initial principal. What happens to your principal and interest will largely depend upon market conditions and could result in some fluctuations therefore causing you to lose your principal. The assumption here is that interest is compounded monthly.

And finally do not take the aforementioned examples as investment advice. It is my advice to you that you should still consult with your financial planner or advisor for more particulars regarding the investment of your hard earned money.

Over the years I have learned the value of seeking wise counsel from various coaches, mentors and others who have achieved the things in life I want to accomplish. One of the resources I actively pursue for knowledge is reading books. This has served me well many times in the past and even today.

The one example that comes to mind was during the time when I used to run races. There always seemed to be a race going on somewhere for one thing or another. Some were to raise money for charities, different causes, social organizations and many other charitable events. These races were 5k, 10k, 4miles, 3k and a variety of other distances.

I would register and show up and run. It was great fun after the races talking with the many competitors. After you have gone to a number of races you start to see the same faces. I remember this one couple that always showed up at the races and every race they would beat me by at least a mile. I tried different strategies but nothing seemed to help me increase my speed. I tried starting out slower hoping to pick up speed as I went but that put me to far behind the other competitors to catch up. Another strategy was to start out fast and give it all I had and hope I could finish that did not work because more times than not I ended up walking a vast majority of the race due to expending too much energy in the beginning.

Now this couple that always beat me they were about 10 to 12 years younger than I was. In my mind this was not an excuse. Also during these races I would always start at the back of the pack or somewhere in the middle of the pack, never in the front because some of the better runners would end up pushing past me to run their race because they were faster.

I finally went to the bookstore and purchased a book called, "Running for Dummies". Quickly looking through the table of contests I came across the chapter I was looking for, speed training. I read the chapter several times but none of it made sense. Let me explain I understand every word and I understood what they were telling me to do, but to me it did not make sense.

This book suggested interval training. You go to a 400 meter track and run around the track at a speed of about 10 seconds faster than your normal race speed then you run around the track at a leisurely jog pace.

Then another faster pace at 10 seconds faster than your normal race speed. You alternate these repetitions until you have completed 8 to 10 laps.

Well how in the world were these short bursts of speed supposed to help me in longer races like a 5k which is 3.2 miles? Nevertheless I performed these training measures over a period of two months. In between the training sometime during the week I would slip in a race or two but my speed was not increasing substantially. I was thinking this is not working.

One particular race I remember showing up to run as usual and there was Virgil and Holly as usual and for no reason that I can explain I remember walking to the front of the pack where all the faster runners normally start, the place that I had always avoided so I could stay out of everyone's way. I stood there for a few moments thinking what in the world am I doing up here? Why am I am the front of the pack? As I stood there the strangest thing happen. I felt a charge of energy and it just felt like someone suddenly downloaded a bolt of lightening into me and I remember thinking wow what was that? I looked down at me feet and quickly scanned the rest of my body thinking I might see this energy or whatever it was coursing through my body.

The race official sounded the gun for the start of the race and I took off like somebody had shot me out of a cannon and somehow I was able to maintain that speed for the entire race. I did not win that race because there were hundreds of competitors but I ended up posting my best time ever and beat Jim and Susie, (not their real names). in the process by a distance of about 500 feet. Now I did not beat them by as much as they beat me by but I overcame the deficit they were beating me by which was about one mile and beat them by 500 feet. What an accomplishment. How strange that my mind and body knew when I was ready to compete at a higher level. The subconscious mind actually guided me to the front of the pack without me even thinking about it.

What does that have to do with wealth building? If there is a particular strategy that you are looking to utilize then you should seek out someone that has accomplished that feat. Look for mentors, and coaches got to seminars and read books on your subject or the area that you are trying to increase your knowledge. There are some many avenues that you can pursue for wealth building. One way to build wealth is to start saving 10% of your money and put it into some type of vehicle that accumulates interest and over the course of time you will begin to see the magic of compound interest. Albert Einstein called compound interest the eighth wonder of the world because of it's amazing properties.

What if you want to pay down credit card debt? Here is a strategy. First list all of your debts on paper starting with the lowest balance first and next to the balance you list the monthly payment. When you get all the debts written down then you add up the balances and the monthly payments. This part just allows you to see where you are in the process.

Next as soon as possible pay off the lowest balance on your list first. Why? When you pay off a balance you receive a feeling of accomplishment. Your subconscious mind begins to store a success that you have experienced. The feeling here is that you are on your way and that this can be accomplished. The small victories give you motivation, inspiration and a feeling of success, along the way to fulfilling your larger victories or goals.

Once you have your smallest balance paid off whatever monthly payment you were paying to that balance you begin to pay that amount towards the next smallest balance in addition to what you were already paying towards that balance. Keep this process going until you are completely debt free. I once used this exact same method and it worked like a charm.

A lot of people don’t know the ins and out along with the small details of making money online with your blog. Well today I am going to share some tips and strategies with you that will help you increase the amount of money you make online with your blog. I came across a neat little site called Adbrite. With
Adbrite it’s very easy to get started. First of all you give a description of your site and you are able to get a copy of the Html code which is the ad-serving code and copy it on your site and now you are ready.

With AdBrite you are in complete control because you receive text ads which are customizable, banner ads as well as active interstitials; these are ads that are full display ads which pay more. If you don’t approve of an ad you are able to reject it for whatever reason. Maybe it’s a competitor ad or may the ad is not socially acceptable, you ca then reject it. You are also able to set the price you charge to advertisers and along with the time frame whether it be daily, monthly or weekly. Adbrite has just recently partnered with some new networks including Advertising.com, Burst Media, and Adpepper so this allows these networks to sell inventory to Adbrite’s marketplace.

And don’t worry if no advertisers purchase your ads network ads are placed on your site. This is my first experience with AdBrite so I am looking forward to the results I will receive once I start to generate more traffic to my blog. If I start getting 500 to 600 visitors per day then it will be well worth my while because at that point I will know that I am on my way.

The Man Who Owns The Internet

I am going to reprint a post that I did in June 2007. I think it provided excellent tips for building and creating wealth. The article title, "The Man Who Owns The Internet.

I was at the airport a couple of days ago, in Baltimore Maryland waiting for my flight to depart for Cleveland, Ohio so I decided to browse through the bookstore to pass some time. There was a magazine entitled, “ Business 2.0” that caught my attention. It was right there in living color and the caption on the cover read as follows:“The man Who owns the internet”. Kevin Ham is the most powerful dotcom Mogul you’ve never heard of. The story was by Paul Sloan.Here’s how the master of web domains built his $300 million dollar empire.

That really got my attention so I purchased the magazine. It outlined the strategy he used to accomplish that feat which basically consisted of purchasing expired domain names which were still hanging out there after the dotcom bust.Fascinating I thought. I read further. One particular day he purchased $650,000 in expired domains by way of bidding at an auction in Las Vegas.

The article goes on to say this was a cheap day. Turns out Kevin put his medical career on hold after he starting receiving income in the neighborhood of $40,000 per month from expired domain names. It was not too long afterwards that Kevin and his wife were moving out of his one-bedroom apartment. I am going to go out on a limb and say this, I don’t think he will ever treat a patient.Since 2000 he has gobbled up over 300,000 domains that generate an estimated $70 million a year in revenue, which Kevin would neither confirm nor deny.

Kevin’s last sentence in this article was, “If you control all the domains, ‘then you control the internet."This article gave a lot of detail but here is the part I found amazing. Whenever you go to a browser to type in a web address and lets say by mistake you key in .cm at the end instead of .com. Well you are automatically routed to a website called Agoga.com owned by Kevin, and this site is filled with ads supplied by yahoo.

If you click on the ads Kevin makes money as does his partner.Who is his partner? You’re going to love this. It’s Cameroon which is a West African country. Why Cameroon ? It’s because .cm is the country code for Cameroon so Kevin made the trip to West Africa to work out a deal with the Cameroon government for permission to use the .cm. In return the city of Cameroon will receive an undisclosed amount of compensation.It gets even better, but I won’t go into all the details.

Looks like he came up with creative ways to attain Wealth Beyond Measure. Of course there is the usual legal issues with some major corporations claiming there is an abuse of trademark, or he thinks this could happen in the future. Those things, however are for the attorneys to decide.What was also good to hear was Christianity had long been a mainstay with his family.

Ham it says will frequently steer conversations about business back to the bible. Even as an undergrad, the article says, “he made the bible a focal point of his life.

A friend from church introduced him to the web in 1992 or 1993 and told him that there was a powerful new medium to spread the gospel.He has other ambitious goals on the horizon but you can get those from the magazine. Well until the next time……

The State of The Economy

With the economy in such a state of turmoil did you ever wonder how the federal reserve tries to control or stimulate the economy? Did you ever wonder how the economy works and how this impacts you?
It would be to your advantage to get a clear understanding of all the integral details and how they impact you because your financial future could depend on it.

Whenever there is a downturn in the economy in the form of a recession or a depression the federal reserve will try to control, move , shift, or stimulate the economy in hopes of reversing a very depressed economy. Lowering the interest rates is one strategy. Let’s define a recession. This is when you have a downturn in economic activity, which for the most part will last at least 6 months, but more times than not it is longer. On the other hand a depression will last a lot longer, sometimes years, and its effects cover a broader, wider base and spectrum of activities and entities.

I heard someone define a recession as a situation when people are losing their jobs and a depression is when you lose your job.
Right now we are seeing a number of things that signal a recession such as fewer employment opportunities which is a result of the slow down in economic activity. When people have pessimism about the economy they keep a tight rein on their wallets and purses. Two thirds of economic activity is fueled by consumer spending. If consumers stop buying a lot of employers will have no choice but to lay off workers because the demand for their products and services is not there.

In February 2008 over 60,000 jobs were wiped out. The federal reserve bank is lowering th feds funds rate which helps consumer in terms of the interest rate they pay for auto loans, home equity loans and consumer loans. Consumers will also see less of a return on their own investments as well as a result of lower interest rates.

Just recently I was in a bank inquiring about the rates for certificate of deposits, (CD’s), they were down to 2.5% to 3% , down from 4.5% to 6%. You can probably see how this can impact your financial future.

It’s been said that the vast majority of those that go on to become financially independent are Entrepreneurs. Or business owners. You can never become a millionaire working for someone else and obviously there are some exceptions to the rule, but they are rare indeed.

If you can move from a position of working for wages and into a position of working for profits then you are positioning yourself to become financially independent and this is how you begin to build great wealth, In essence you are becoming a wealth builder.

I once heard someone say that a , “Job” stands for Just Over Broke. Here is another good one too much month at the end of the money. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

That’s why now is the time to unleash the spirit of the entrepreneur and begin your journey to success and start to achieve wealth beyond measure. Entrepreneurs are risk takers, but they are calculated well thought out risks with a reasonable plan of action. They don’t wait until everything is perfect or until the time is right because they understand that now is the right time to go for it. They are willing to do whatever it takes to get to where they want to go. In actuality they become unstoppable in the quest for their goals and dreams.

The entrepreneur is not only a risk taker but a visionary as well who do not understand or even entertain the possibility of failure.

The Road To Financial Independence

Are you looking to achieve financial independence? Then you probably want to try and increase your net worth. Your net worth is the figure that’s derived from subtracting your liabilities from your assets. If you net worth is not where you want to be or you have not achieved your stated goal then it/s in our best interest to increase your assets, while at the same time you want to reduce your liabilities.

A lot of people desire to become millionaires. You status as a millionaire is determined by the net worth you have accumulated. Getting to that status calls for a shift in your mindset and your way of thinking, as well as the need to put a concrete, clearly thought out plan into place. Set a specific date and now review your plan and be as specific as possible. If your goals is to become a millionaire in 3 years you must break this down into a yearly basis, then month by month and day by day.

That’s right every day you need to work on your goals. The night before put together a list of things you want to accomplish the next day that help steer you in the direction of your long term goal of financial independence.

Find out who you can talk to where can you go, what can you do that will get you where you need to be. You have to truly believe that you have the talent and ability that will enable you to accomplish your goal. It’s a must that your goal of financial independence be realistic. In other words you must have the right time frame in place.

You must develop the habit or working hard, very hard as well as smart to accomplish your desired results. Get out and meet industrious, positive, hardworking, visionary, enthusiastic people such as yourself who will help you meet your goals, and who you help achieve their dreams. It’s has been said that you cannot help someone else without also helping yourself. A team of individuals who remain committed to the cause will develop chemistry and synergy and these two ingredients together will do more than you can imagine to move your forward in your pursuit of excellence.

As a leader it’s your responsibility to have a vision and then articulate that vision to your team so that they become excited about the possibility of what can be accomplished with a joint effort. Everyone needs to know what part they play in fulfilling the mission or the vision.

With the way the economy is going people are looking for a way out. Everywhere you look some company is downsizing and laying off workers because of what appears to be a recession. Consumers are hanging on to their money and not making the extravagant purchases they were making in the past. So often we sabotage our own success and don’t even realize how we do it. You ask how do we do this? It happens when we continue to think negative thoughts and it also comes from all of the negative talking that we do. Whenever we don't learn from our mistakes and we keep doing the same old things day in and day out we are setting ourselves up for failure.

The greatest mistake we can ever make is staying within our comfort zone and never challenging ourselves to go above and beyond the call of duty. When we keep associating with the same old people that have no desire themselves to become great, then we are in essence paving the way for our own failure. In essence if you keep doing what you have always done you will keep getting what you have always gotten.

We must continually ask better quality questions. For it is the process of questioning that allows us to achieve success. How can I do this better? Is there another process that will enable me to cut costs by 50%? What exactly can I do right now that’s going to catapult my career into a new direction? Who can help me achieve my major goals in life? How can they help me? The questions that we ask can help define who we are and help to unlock that hidden potential that dwells within.

If we never take an assessment of ourselves, our talent and ability and see what we are truly good at then we are setting ourselves up for failure, and ultimately sabotaging our success. When we truly understand our purpose or our assignment so to speak then we can become a success in this life.

If we never understand what motivates us, drives us, gives us happiness, passion, excitement and enthusiasm then we can never go down the road of success. It takes self awareness to be truly successful. We must be committed to taking ourselves to the next level and believing that all things are possible.

If we can consistently give it our best effort nothing can deny us our end result. It’s our ability to keep our eyes on the prize while minimizing the distractions and obstacles that takes us far beyond greatness and eventually enables us to fulfill our destiny.

2008 is Operation Financial Freedom so I want to share today's topic with you.

I am constantly being asked what do I look for in a mentor or coaching program, and today I will go over some criteria that I use when I pick mine which has lead me to a very successful journey. January has been a complete non-stop whirl wind for me as I have flown multiple times already in 4 weeks, to meet with mentors of my own, and to appear at internet marketing related events.

So I thought today would be good to talk about mentors, especially since I have a brand new JV Coaching Club class starting, and 4 new mentors of my own.

When you are on your Internet marketing journey trying to rush towards your dreams like Haley's Comet, life will try to stop you at every opportunity. The kids will get sick, you'll get sick, boss wants you to work late all month, someone dies, the dog needs an operation, your house just got flooded, your computer crashes, and the maid quits. These are all reasons I have heard from my coaching clients throughout my program.

You have to remember at all times, your goals and dreams are at stake here - and the only one that can make them happen is YOU.

So when you start a new endeavour you can do it:
1. The hard way
2. The long way
3. The expensive way
4. The mentor way

What is a mentor?
In simple terms a mentor is someone who knows more than you, and can provide you with information which will allow you to duplicate steps to achieve the end results of the program.

And if you are a mentor, it is more critical that you always have one- to ensure your skills are accelerating as fast as any client that may come your way.

Mentors are a hieararchy and parallel format, in that mentors invest in mentors.
In essence this means the money is always moving like an MLM.

From day one I have invested in mentors, because as an entrepreneur I know that investing in yourself is the most valuable action you can take. I pick one that is where I want to be for my next level. If you pick on that is too far beyond your income and skill level, you won’t be able to keep up. They’ll move too fast, think too fast, and expect more than you can give. Something to think about with a mentor.

On the other hand, pick one that makes things happen in their own life, because that’s proof that they are applying what they learn –not just learning and parroting it back to you. That’s easy.

You can get information from books, CDs, DVDs, teleseminars, etc. but there is nothing like access to a direct mentor because they keep you moving forward, fast.

A mentor does 3 things for you;

1. Kicks butt – keeps you accountable
2. Gives you lots of feedback and help in between classes/appointments - rapid progress
3. Gives you information that worked for them and others

And selecting a mentor isn’t a casual purchase. If they’re not doing those things, you bought a friend. Make sure you are getting pushed just beyond your limits, enough that if it were life and death, you could do it. Then you know the rest is the choice you want to progress.

In general I would also recommend that you like them, you can relate to them, and feel like they are the right one for you.

This is the advice I have been giving to my clients, and with up to 30 at a time it has given a snapshot at consistent habits that many people have, that they need to identify in themselves, and make sure they select a mentor that will also help them overcome some of these.

Set Your Goals for 2008

means it's time to set goals for the new
year.

If that sounds like you then you may want
to pay attention to this. Goals have the
following elements:

Number 1: Your goals must be written and here’s why. Writing out your goals makes you 4 to 5 times more likely to get them done and it also helps you establish a road map from A to Z. Now here is the most important part about writing out goals , and please don’t take this point lightly. Your written goals cause something to become activated within the subconscious mind that causes you to react and bring those things into existence. Your powerful subconscious mind will begin to maneuver you into the right places, to do the right things and meet the right people. On the surface it looks like you are casually going about your business taking care of remedial things, but that is not so. Once the subconscious mind gets a hold of a goal that you truly believe it works day and night to make it a reality. The only requirement is that you truly believe it and it is backed with a burning desire.

Great Focus

If you want to accomplish great things in life you must have the ability to focus and weed out all of the distractions that keep you from accomplishing your goals and objectives.

You have to be like a magnifying glass; the magnifying glass captures the suns rays, harnesses it power, focuses it's energy and brings forth fire.

When you focus on your goals they capture your potential, harnesses all of your talent and ability, focus your energy and they bring forth accomplishment.

Have you ever seen a lion tamer at a circus. Did you ever wonder how he is able to keep a lion at bay with nothing but a chair....(well sometimes a whip).

Why doesn't the lion just jump on him and attack him. Is it because the lion is so well tamed? Maybe. Another reason is the fact that the lion has such grea focus that it can only focus on one thing at a time.

Now the king of beasts is trying to focus on the four legs of the chair, but it cannot do it. This is what keeps the lion from moving forward trying to focus on four things instead of one.

The same thing happens with us when we try to focus on too many things, we can't move forward.

The best way to motivate your team is to find out what motivates each member of your team. Next you design and fashion goals around those motivating criteria. Put some actions steps in place that are motivating and inspiring.

1. Have team meetings with motivating themes. Give everyone on the team a chance to facilitate the team meeting. The meeting should have an up tempo theme.

2. Have contests and games. Maybe money will be the prize or movie tickets or a compliment. Get everyone involved and have fun.

Synergy 2+2 =5

2+2 = 5, this equation only takes place when there is synergy. Let me give you the definition of synergy. "The whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts. Here is an example of synergy. If you have Jane making widgets and alone she is able to make 25 widgets and you also have Bill. Bill is also able to make 25 widgets. Jane's production plus Bill's equals 50 widgets.

Now Let's say Jane and Bill decide to work together to produce their widgets. Now you have two people working together towards a common goal. What happens now is an exchange takes place. An exchange of ideas, ability, creativeness, brainstorming, communication, time, energy, excitement, passion, knowledge base.

Each individual brings a different set of variables to the table and they exchange all of the talent and ability the each possess and you know have synergy. Since they have decided to produce their widgets together the final output could be
70 widgets or 80 widgets or even 100 widgets.

The old equation is Jane plus Bill = 50 but since they have joined forces the new equation is Jane plus Bill = 70 or 80 or 100. Thus 2 + 2 = 5. So now you can see how the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts. Jane and Bill together can produce far more than either could do alone because of a criss cross of information , communication and abilities.

When two or more people come together and they are working together for a common goal you now have a team and teamwork exists. Within a team each member is expected to complete a distinct function. Members have to be able to trust one another otherwise the team cannot exist and function correctly and operate efficiently and effectively. You won't have synergy without these variables. The dynamics of a team is quite interesting. Sometimes members take on roles based on their own individual talents and abilities. You should do the thing that you excel at and doing so will enable you to become energetic, passionate, excited and enthused about the goal. All it takes is for one person to catch on fire with enthusiasm and it will spread like a fire in a dry field. Conversely the opposite is true. One person on the team with a negative attitude is all it takes to destroy the chemistry and synergy that exists within the confines of a well defined team.

Making the Most of Google Calendar

Google Calendar is a great tool and resource that allows you to keep track of your life and the life of others. The calendar helps you to track of your important life events, and meetings while at the same time giving you the ability to look for different features and events that may be of interest to you.

If you list an event you can see all of the details such as date, time, location, address, and all of the other items about the event all on your calendar.

Let's just take a look at Google and evaluate everything and put it into
perspective.

Google is an awesome internet search engine as well as a vehicle for advertising online including the use of google ad sense. Some estimates put Google as the largest United States organization with over 15,000 employees . It has expanded into web-based email, online mapping and other products and services. There is a non-profit area of Google which is Google.org and it was established with an initial fund of one billion dollars. It was founded for a good cause and that is to combat the issues of climate change, global public health, and global poverty.

During it's time in existence Google has acquired some smaller companies one of which was Pyra labs which is also the creator of blogger, the free blogging site that allows you to set up your own blog, again at no cost.

If you have been paying attention to the news you know that Google acquired YouTube for an outstanding amount of money, somewhere in the area of 1.65 billion dollars.

Google has also partnered with other organizations to fulfill different goals and objectives, companies such as Sun Microsystems and Time Warner's AOL.

The large majority of Google's revenue comes from advertising. Advertising revenue in 2005 alone was over 10 billion dollars and over 100 million dollars from other licensing and other revenues

The best way to make money is earning it doing something you are passionate about. When you are excited, enthusiastic, motivated, energized, happy, and passionate about what you are doing in essence you are not working. Work becomes play.

Your passion will begin to help you see opportunities that others don't see and a whole new world will avail itself to you. That's when you begin to attract the people and the things in your life that will help you accomplish your financial goals in life and then you will truly start to make some money because people will want to become a part of what you are doing because they see the excitement you exhibit.

Have a plan of action written about regarding the money you want to make. It first starts with a mindset that says you will make money and become financially independent despite the setbacks, and the shortcomings and the pitfalls. You will persevere against all odds and continue on despite the difficulty until you start making the money you want.

Once your plan is in place and you have absolute clarity about how much money you want to make and when then you must work hard, very hard.

We just relax and cruise within the confines of our comfort zone, old habits, old paradigms, and old ways of doing things? We never expand beyond our comfort zones, and when that happens we don't seek out new challenges, and new opportunities in life. We are lulled into a life of comfort and complacency. But the question I would ask you today is what will you do when lightning strikes?

Have your noticed that right before lightning strikes there are three stages. First you see a brilliant flash of light, and sometimes it comes in succession; one right after the other. It's almost like the flash of a camera and there's no sound, it's very quiet. During stage two you hear a low thunderous rumbling. Immediately after that stage three takes place lightning strikes.

Lets look at each stage.

Stage one. The brilliant illumination of light in succession. I would like to think that this stage represents the quiet time that we spend talking to God in our own humble abodes, in our secret hiding place. Maybe just maybe this is the time that we receive the inspiration from God concerning creative ideas and the entrepreneurial spirit along with the innovative spirit. Perhaps this is the time we sit back and take assessment of our skills, talents, and abilities and of the greatness and the creative genius that dwells within. We come into the knowledge that we were divinely created by God himself, in his own image and likeness.

Stage two. The low thunderous rumbling.

What if the low thunderous rumbling represents the unrest and stirring in the soul and spirit. At this stage perhaps we are trying to pull away from our comfort zones, and old habits. We come to understand that the comfort zone is not a good place. We sit up and say I can do more! I can be more! What is my assignment? What is the assignment that I am to fulfill on this earth? What is my purpose?

Stage Three. The lightning strikes.

Finally the lightning strikes. It's like a cannon or a sonic boom. The sky lights up brilliantly with a great flash. The illumination is incredible. It's like a freeze frame in the sky and appears to part the sky in halves. The lightning appears to writhe across the sky like a thing alive. What if this is the time that we come into the knowledge of what it is that God wants us to do in terms of fulfilling our destiny? What if this is the time that we come into the knowledge of what our purpose is? Perhaps this is the time that we begin to pursue our goals and dreams in life. What if this is the time that we begin to write out our goals and attach a deadline for their accomplishment? Maybe just maybe this is when we design an action plan step by step detail by detail and begin to implement the plan in an effort to achieve our life's dream.

There have been so many people that didn't write the books, or did not invent the invention or did not pursue their dream and purpose in life. I can just imagine that they saw the lightning and chose to ignore it.

What will you do when lightning strikes? Will you look to the brilliant illumination in the sky and follow it on to your goals and dreams. Or will you seek shelter in the confines of your comfort zone, old habits and paradigms? I chose to follow the lightning and pursue my goals and dreams in life, as should you, while the opportunity exists. Remember, lightning never strikes in the same place twice.

Now matter where you are you need to operate within the confines of a team.
As they say no man is an island. When you have a team every person is assigned
a specific function to carry out. If one person is not fulfilling their responsibility then the team suffers. That burden falls to remaining team members, which mean others have to do the job not being handled by the slacker. Most companies are organized within teams with everyone fulfilling their role. Start with open end questions. These are questions which cannot be answered with a simple yes or know. They entice the customer to give you more information.

These type of questions get the customer talking about themselves. One example of an open end questions is the following: Please explain your experience with investments. Listening is another good quality because this helps you understand the customers needs and then gives you the ability to recommend the correct product or service. Customers want to know that they can trust you and that you have their best interest at heart.

As a sales person you can also use closed end questions. These are questions that the customer will answer with a yes or no and are designed to help you close the sale and control the conversation. One example is "Do You feel comfortable with high risk products?".

I have read the number one selling motivational book of times, “ Think and Grow Rich“, by Napolean hill three or four times. Every time I read it I learn something new or gain a new perspective on how to look at some of the concepts in that book. This book makes great reading for those that want to become successful, not only in the area of finances but all areas of life as well.

The concept that I love to explore is the fact that your thoughts are things, very powerful and can take on a life form all their own. Not many people realize this but it is our very thoughts that form the fabric of our being regarding who we are, who we can become, and why we do the things we do.

If you think for example that you are going to become a successful, and this is a strong belief backed by unconquerable resolve laced with as Napolean Hill stated, a burning desire then chances are you will become a success. When you are in this state of mind you have a tendency not to see you failures, short comings or set backs. You mind is completely focused on your goals and the successes that lie ahead.

Success is calling never giving up and calling upon that inner resolve that says don't give up for what you are seeking is just beyond the horizon. Never fall by the wayside. Continue to seek wise counsel in the coaches, and mentors you find for they are all around. Success is learning something new everyday and never settling for the status quo.

Success is challenging yourself to do better, to be better and then setting the bar just a little bit higher. Pearls Of Wisdom From The Successful

They say if you want to be truly successful then you should do what the most successful people in the world do. How do you know what they do? Well, you can read their autobiographies or you can simply go and talk to them, which is what I did on several occasions. On this particular setting I scheduled an appointment to speak with Robert Goldberg, who at the time, was President of Ohio Savings Bank, NKA, Amtrust Bank. I actually got a chance to speak with him and pick up some pearls of wisdom about success and becoming financially independent.

During my encounter with Mr. Goldberg I asked what were some of the attributes or qualities one needed in order to become successful no matter what company you were working for and the first attribute he shared was the fact that you have to work hard. He went on to explain how his father was a hard worker, persevered and was disciplined in his saving habits, which eventually enabled him to save enough money to buy the bank. He understand the powerful concept of compound interest and how money works. Albert Einstein called compound interest the eighth wonder of the world because of the extraordinary impact it has on your money when you begin to save and have that money subject to a decent interest rate.

Mr. Goldberg went on to explain how he developed habits of discipline and perseverance because of an early set back or failure in college. That also corresponds with my thoughts on the matter that you need your setbacks and temporary defeats to shake you out of your comfort zone, which in essence leads you to greater victories in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. It’s our setbacks that propel us onto greatness. Willie Jolley, a renown motivational speaker said it best in his best selling book, entitled, “A Setback Is A Setup For A Comeback”. When you have a setback you are in essence positioning yourself for a comeback. You learn from your failures and mistakes and set out anew with new plans, ideas, hopes and sometimes new dreams in an effort to live your purpose and fulfill your destiny.

As I listened to Robert Goldberg I could not help but think about how some people are so flawed in their thinking. They think people become successful by luck, or accident, or it was just meant for them to be. The last part of that statement is true, it was meant for them to be successful, but only after they have paid their dues with long hard hours of work, and perseverance and with not only knowledge, but as Nido Quebein once said, it’s knowledge in order. You can have all the knowledge you want but if you don’t apply it in an organized format towards the accomplishment of your stated goals. you will not receive the desired results.

Willie Jolley said it’s like baking a cake, there is a certain recipe you must follow to get the best results. If you don’t follow the exact recipe then you will get less than stellar results. Too much of this, not enough of that or this is missing all together. There is a process, a recipe or a formula that must be followed to become successful.

As we continued the conversation Mr. Goldberg hit on another key quality and that is integrity and always telling the truth, along with keeping your word. What powerful concepts and principles for success. During the early years of running the bank he stated if a customer was told he would receive an interest rate of 6% and the rates increased to 7% or 8% that is what the customer received, because 6% was the prevailing rate at the time. Your word is your bond. These were times when a handshake would suffice and a deal was made. Not anymore. Both sides today come armed with attorneys looking for loopholes but that’s the way society has evolved to. Integrity is a continuous action, which enables you to develop a reputation for integrity.

Another key concept he expounded upon was doing more than is required of you. If you have a project with a deadline of three days, get it done in two.

Mr. Goldberg mentioned how important it is to understand what it is you want to accomplish or pursue while you are in college. As he spoke on these things I immediately thought about myself and how important it is to understand your purpose and the need to have clarity.

Robert mentioned how he honored the things his father spoke of and also the great example his father set which he followed. His fathers story represented the ultimate success story. He ventured to this country in 1929 without any money and he deposited 50 cents per day which enabled him to eventually save enough money to purchase a lot, resell it and purchase another. Again, he was eventually able to purchase the bank in 1961 with assets in the millions and 60 employees.

Being a good listener was the next quality he spoke about. So many times people don’t really listen they merely wait for the other person to pause or stop speaking so they can interject their own thoughts without taking the time to thoroughly absorb what was said. Listening allows you to learn from others because no one has all the answers. Always have an open door policy which allows associates to voice their opinion and express what is on their mind .

The next success tip was very key as well and it is have compassion on your co-workers and treat them like family, which sets the stage for your employees to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Working and contributing to the community was another key quality Mr. Goldberg spoke of. This for the most part was the end of my interview and it enabled me to put some plans into place that would help me achieve even a greater level of success. I was able to put some notes together from our encounter and every now and then I refer back to them as a reminder of the things I need to do to walk into greatness and fulfill my destiny.
